boxee should shift away from python 2.4 to something more recent

Description

All the python code in boxee requires python2.4 to compile. There hasn't been a 2.4 release in 3 years, and almost all distros have stopped carrying python 2.4 out of the box. It could be as simple a matter as running the code through the automated converter http://docs.python.org/library/2to3.html
