Launching a Test App from BoxeeApps results in duplicate entries in favorite apps that can not be removed (never)

Description

Plug in a usb thumbdrive with test applications in BoxeeApps folder
Launch one of the test applications
Exit back to the app screen and there are now 2 duplicate entries of the same test app

Launching an app from a USB drive setup as a test app results in two instances of that app being shown in the app list.
Removing the USB drive / Deleting the apps on it DOES NOT remove the duplicate entries.
The only way is to do A HARD RESET which will clear the extra entries from the list.

(btw - there is no way to distinguish between test apps and "normal" apps, which is a problem on its own).

In an environment where the Boxee is used for entertainment as well as development, the double entries cause confusion and clutter. This definitely inhibits the usefulness of throwing together test apps for quick and dirty one-off r&d. It seems unnecessary.

closed. verified using 1.1.0.18269
if you still have 2 instances of the app, here is the workaround for you:
1. remove the BoxeeApps folder or disconnect the USB device which contain this folder.
2. exit and re-enter the Apps window, so the Apps list is refreshed. the first App instance is gone. now you should see only one instance of the App.
3. open the test app. and exit. the second App instance should disappear.

4. Plug in the USB device with the BoxeeApps folder. now you should see only one instance of the test app.
5. run the test app. exit the test app. now you should see only one instance of the test app.

Indeed I even have now 2 apps that are not getting removed (cleared) at all even if I have removed the thumbdrive and restarted...

It seems every time the thumb is removed and added it adds a new set of icons

i agree, this appeared to be fixed in 1.1 however it's back creating even more copies than before with the latest update.

This forces devs to do a hard reset quite often, provided that they also actually use the box. Fix it please!

just to clarify, this should also be relevant to the situation where previously installed (favourited) test apps remain on the boxee box even when the USB drive/stick is removed, or the test apps are taken off the device.
This leads to favourite apps that cannot ever be removed. Attempting to delete them from the Boxee Box favourites panel causes a message saying the app can only be removed manually. which is impossible to do.

Since my defect has been duplicated by this BOXEE-11443, could you please update the description of this defect to include the comments below. Especially:
1) That it's on the Boxee Box (not the Windows Application).
2) That it's not ONLY duplicate names, but effectively CORRUPTING the FAVORITES APPs for eternity*
(* or until a hard-factory-restore)

How come you can't comment on defects that get duplicated? No way of saying "Well Sir, I respectfully disagree!!"

boxee, can we _please_ address this issue at some point in the near future? even on the beta 1.5 version i cannot remove any test apps installed on the boxee box. I still get a remove button which only tells me these have to be removed manually. Which given i cannot ssh/telnet into the box i cant actually do.
This is a major hinderance in developing or learning to develop apps on the BoxeeBox
