Description

bring back the "set as default for all movies" in video playback OSD settings.
"set as default for all movies" button allowing those settings to be the default. It appears that this means that there is therefore no way to change the default zoom setting or default audio language or to turn off subtitles for all movies.

Since this is a feature request now, what if we started with "auto" as a global default (instead of "none") on the interlaced handling?

Not sure how auto works but some suggestions:

- If display is 4x3 (assume an NTSC TV) and video is 29.97, no de-interlacing
- If display is 16x9 and video is 29.97, assign blend
- If display is 16x9, video is 29.97, and content it is a feature film, assign inverse telecine

In previous versions of Boxee it was possible to enable/disable subtitles globally via the audio settings while viewing a movie/video. Now with the new "subtitles" settings, there is no longer an option "set as default for all movies". Users must enable/disable subtitles for each movie (each viewing of each movie too?)

I too would like a way to disable subtitles by default...
(I ripped subtitles for my entire collection in case my parents or non-native speaking in-laws want to watch something, but I don't need subtitles most of the time.)
Even better would to have an intelligent default where it enables subtitles for movies with non-locale language tracks... :)

Disable Subtitle Autoload:

   1. Shut down Boxee and make sure it is not running anywhere. If Boxee is running while you do this then your alters will not save.
   2. Open guisettings.xml which is found in Boxee's userdata directory. Note that this is not the same userdata directory where the Boxee executable resides. The directory I'm talking about is where all your apps, settings, images from your media that Boxee retrieves, etc are stored.
   3. Go to the <defaultvideosettings> block of xml.
   4. Find the <showsubtitles> value and change it from true to false.
   5. Save guisettings.xml and start Boxee.

Isn't this fixed or partially fixed with the new global subtitle checkbox that was [re-]introduced with 1.0.1.16319?

(For me, that checkbox isn't working with 1.0.1.16319, but perhaps that's a different bug)

This issue has been preventing me from using Boxee, and instead Im using VLC because all of the movies Ive ripped from my library have an audio offset issue and its pain to have to set that movie by movie.
