Description
There is a considerable delay between recognising media and being able to play the Local File from My TV Shows. There is no reason why this can't be instantaneous.
As an aside (separate issue or possibly new feature) Why not employ a filesystem watcher, you can then pick up file additions, deletions and renames as they happen. If boxee is idle it can process the changed files (not the entire drive) immediately, otherwise queue them up to be processed when it is idle. You then wouldn't need to specify how frequently the source was scanned.
Add file to network storage.
in Boxee go to Files > source > browse to file
click Scan For Media
wait
click on file (keep checking until it has been recognised) and click on Go To Show
Episode is either missing or only available from Hulu et al.
Go Back to file browser (hit the Menu button)
click Go To Show again
repeat until episode is available

This is the correct Boxee behavior,
there is local caching for media items, so from the second an item has been resolved and until it shows up in the media library can take up to 30 seconds.
