Description
Yesterday I was playing some videos (I think the first one was the Destructoid Show for 23-12-2011 via the Revision 3 app) and my video suddenly went into a Purple/Green view (I mean all colors were shades of either green or purple). I fixed the issue by unplugging and replugging my HDMI cable which caused the colors to return to normal.
A few minutes later I experienced this same issue playing back another video (can't quite recall which one it was), which I resolved by switching to another HDMI source and back to the Boxee Box, which again caused the colors to return to normal.
I had changed the display settings to YUV444 from my usual RGB High (36-bit) setting (someone in the forums mentioned that this gave him a better color rendering) about half an hour before the first glitch happened, so I though it might have to do with that, so I switched back to the RGB high mode again.
I started playing another video and lo and behold about 20 minutes into that video I again experienced the Purple/Green view. This time I let the video play on without making any HDMI connectivity changes and after about a minute it returned to the normal color view.
Since that time I haven't experienced any Purple/Green view events (watched about 5 hours of video since the last event), so it could be related to the YUV444 experiment I ran.
Since I can't reproduce this behavior in a controlled fashion it is difficult to produce logs.
BTW: my TV is a Philips 46PFL9704
