BBC iPlayer App - buffering causes audio to go out of sync, or play twice on top of each other

innovativevsregressive added a comment - 06/Mar/12 5:56 PM debug log is attached, When I last used the app about a minute into "question time" the audio issues occured and remained. The video didn't go back to the position where it first occured and the audio was fine as I found today. This time it didn't so I then selected another program in HD, then in SD as I had insufficient bandwith at the time and the issue did eventually occur but resolved itself if you will by going back to where the issue occured and playing fine. I then selected another program where the audio issue happened twice but instead of remaining the video loaded again from where it first occured.

This time when streaming the first programme no problems, when streaming another in HD the iPlayer buffering logo would appear and the video would keep skipping back to a previous position repeatedly. This only stopped when I manually skipped the position of the video forward. No audio issue in this case.

This time the on the fourth time I streamed a programme (sd) the iplayer buffering logo appeared with once again the video continuing as in the previous log, however this time it skipped back to where the icon appeared first only once then continued playing fine. Then shortly after the 2 audio tracks bug appeared as mentioned in the title, however the video then skipped back and the audio was fine, shortly after the video started from the beginning. (usually this bug has occurs almost every time a programme is streamed, however as you can see from my comments this is not the case today)

innovativevsregressive added a comment - 20/Mar/12 8:20 AM Forgot to mention the response from the BBC when I notified the BBC iPlayer team about this issue: "Thank you for contacting the BBC iPlayer Support Team. I understand that you are encountering a duplicate stream problem on your Boxee. This is an equipment / software specific problem so regrettably we are unable to provide further guidance and suggest you consult the manufacturer."

Adrian Russell added a comment - 24/Jun/12 11:34 AM For me this is pretty much guaranteed to make the error happen... 1) watch any iplayer programme to the end 2) watch a second programme and the problem comes within a minute or so To prevent it from happening the only thing I can find that works is to ALWAYS exisit the iplayer app before watching a new show. This always works for me.

James Long added a comment - 08/Sep/12 1:56 PM Happens to me a lot of the time, both in HD and non-HD. Only cure is to restart the app and hope it works.
