Some 720p XviD avi plays choppy, stuttering.

Description

Updated to FW 1.2.1.20451 and some 720p XviD files are still stuttering.

For example:
Father.of.Invention.2010.720p.BRRiP.XViD.AC3-FLAWL3SS.avi
Faster.2010.720p.BRRip.XviD.AC3-ViSiON.avi

Tried playback from:
NFS from NAS
SMB
USB disk

Always the same result.

Using MPEG4 Modifier and selecting to pack the bitstream and untick auto solves this issue.

I have the same issue, always w/ FLAWL3SS releases. I used to UNPACK the bitstream in MPEG4 Modifier to get them to play, but since the firmware update, I'm having to PACK them.

I am too now seeing this more with the recent release. Never noticed it as bad until just recently with some of my .avi files.

It would help us reproduce and fix the issue if you could please upload the file or a file sample to the "incoming" directory at
ftp://ftp.boxee.tv
user: dropbox

Before uploading, Rename the file to include the issue number in its file name.
This is a write only FTP, and other people will not see your files.
You can use the FTP client from http://filezilla-project.org/

Also experiencing same issue with many AVI's, only since the last update. All played fine before. If anyone has even a temporary fix i'd appreciate it.

Comment [ Hey Stuart, you should be able to block the download URL on your router/modem. Most devices have a URL filter page where you can specify domains to block.

If you can find it just add: dl.boxee.tv - and it should stop harassing you. ;) ]

I'm also having framerate issues in all 720p xvids I download. All of them have the packet bitsream option turned off.

I converted them to h264, using Ripbot. After that the playback was perfect.

I'm uploading the files to the ftp server, the originals and the converted ones.

Please, this needs a fix soon, this way we can't watch any movie encoded with H263 (avi). There as some releases there are only available in that format, so downloading them again is not a option.

I uploaded six files. Please let know if they are in your server.

Three of them are in mpeg4/xvidHD, the other three are converter to h264/mvk (the names are the same, just the extension is different). I did this so you can compare them side by side. This way you can see better that the xvidhd playback is a little slower than the h264 ones. This seems a framerate issue to me.

I have tested with different settings 720. 720 locked to 50mzh same on 1080i.
Seems like choppy. the sound is ok.
I tested a fix on the forum by using MPEG4Modifier.exe to change something in the file and after that it ran just like it should accept the sound that was out of sync but that could be the programs fault.
