your log does not contain any crash information.
I also suspect that the crash was not caused by the navi-x application.
please reproduce the crash and attach another DEBUG log to this issue.

That's probably because Navi-x just makes the entire system freeze. I tried it again this morning. It freezes when ever I browse to any folder.

I can confirm this bug since I frequently see the hang with Navi-x and various links with the current release version 1.2.

I'm on a 24 Meg cable connection and I can reproduce the hang on my box 100% of the time as follows:

1. Launch Navi-x.
2. Open "Most-viewed 24 hours".
3. Select "Justme4u2c Movies".
4. Select "The Caller (2011)" -- it's located about 25% of the way down the list.
5. The "wait circle" will begin spinning.
6. Wait about 10 seconds or so and then press the "Previous" button on the remote and the "wait circle" will freeze and the hang will occur (the bug). At this point I have to press the reset button on the top back corner of the box to reboot and get out of the hang. It's important to note that the hang doesn't occur until you press the "Previous" button to try and back out.
7. Repeat the process but omit step-6 above. Instead wait for 2 - 3 minutes or so. Eventually "The Caller (2011) will begin playing. Note that it is buffering very badly (every 10 seconds or so).
8. Press the "Previous" button on the remote now and note that the hang does not occur.
9. This bug may or may not show up on all Boxee Boxes. I bought a second one about 10 days ago for out-of-town relatives, set it up for them, and showed them how to use it. I explained to them that Navi-X was very powerful when it worked but that it would hang frequently (I estimated at least 1 out of every 10 links chosen). I then tried to show them the bug by randomly clicking about 30 different links, but I couldn't hang it. I don't remember if I tried "The Caller" but perhaps I did not.
10. For me, this is the only major bug that I've run across. It's very frustrating to have to reboot the box while I'm browsing and sampling Navi-x links so I'm hoping you'll be able to reproduce this and fix it.

As per the previous comment, note that "The Caller" seems to play properly on the PC version of Boxee -- apparently without excessive buffering.

This has been an issue for sometime. I don't know if the python sandbox Team Boxee installed just eats up the remaining resources for the Box or what but it seems like since it was installed, my Boxee Box gui in general seems to stutter slightly. If I press buttons too fast on the remote when navigating, the box will begin to slow up. This did not seem to happen before the python sandbox at all. Now it's excessive.

To add on, when you open an app that streams from some online video hosts, if I attempt to back out of it most of the time the app will hang. Based on my experience with this issue, it appears to be a lack of resources causing this. Is there anything we can do to our app from our end to decrease the workload so bottlenecking of resources doesn't seem so bad? Thanks.

Hello,

I am having the exact same problem .. Same steps as mentioned above. If there is a video that does not load and the circle is spinning, if you attempt to back out it will freeze. My boxee is three days old and updated to the latest version of boxee firmware.
