darcilicious added a comment - 29/Oct/11 4:29 PM The only ETA for an update for pc/mac software version is "this fall". Boxee doesn't have a history of announcing release dates in advance more than that... so I wouldn't count on more than that.

About half of what I watched on boxee was netflix, and about 80% of that was TV shows. I like boxee's interface and all, but it is better for me to get up and click a few buttons on my computer in my browser than it is to have 40% of my content nearly unusable.

infoeon added a comment - 30/Nov/11 8:33 AM I am running a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro, Boxee 0.9.23.15885 (latest download), and Netflix app 2.74 (latest version) Other issues: The entire Weeds show was added to my Instant Queue (listed as one entry, not as separate seasons) from the Netflix website but did not appear in the Instant Queue within the Boxee Netflix app until I "Switched Users" and logged back in as myself within the Boxee app. After selecting Weeds in my Instant Queue it lists all the episodes, in random order (no way to sort episodes) and with no indication as to what episode a particular show is. The list jumps from s4 to s1 to s3 and so on. Searching for Weeds within the Netflix app gives a results window but not with the Weeds tv show. Browsing the Television genre shows Weeds but only seasons 4,5, and 6, and those have two entries each for some reason. The users expectation is that Netflix content (and queue, and recommendations) are the same everywhere. Searching in Boxee must give identical results to searching in the browser or gaming console. Television series should be just as navigable as on other platforms (series, seasons, then episodes). I cannot view a show or movie without first adding it to my Instant Queue. Users should just have to select the show then hit play instead of selecting the show, adding it to their queue, going back to the menu, selecting their queue, selecting the show again, then hitting play. One step instead of five! Optimization is all about doing things only once. There was a FAQ under the Boxee box forum that recommended clearing the settings under Settings->System->Services but there is no Services menu under the Windows Boxee application. I have read of some users resorting to deleting their data folders but that is dangerous for novice users, and it's not a very easy method using just a remote. Why is there even an "app" for Netflix? Its content should just be integrated into my "Library" like the Hulu content is. I am sure you have some agreement with Hulu/Xfinity/etc for premium placement and integration with Boxee, but for a seamless "experience" for the user (see ramblings below) it makes sense for all content to appear in a single location. For example, my Instant Queue should appear inside my Boxee Queue and under My TV Shows. Recommendations could also appear under the Featured listing. Side rambling: It is very frustrating that the Netflix "experience" (navigation, content availability, etc) is vastly different depending on what device you are watching it on. This alone makes we want to drop the service (and Boxee) altogether, and why people create(download) their own media libraries. Content providers need to give users good UIs and unrestricted access to the content they paid for without having to jump through hoops. Until that happens the majority of us will still rely on alternative methods to procure their content (for free). Adding a working Amazon streaming app would also be a solution; there are many that are waiting for that!
