regression: after 1.2.0.20310 update - poor playback experience over SMB

Description

Since the update I get extreme buffering during playback of .mkv files on my NAS drive. I've tried with several content pieces and all experience the same issue. Seems the unit locks up after less than 4 minutes of playback!
