airtunes: cannot stream music from itunes on OSX to boxee

Scott Williams added a comment - 16/Oct/11 8:16 AM - edited I've disabled IPv6 and iTunes now attempts to stream e.g it says "Connecting to Boxee" and Boxee screen goes black but then I get the error "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Boxee”. The network connection timed out." For anyone thats wondering to disable IPv6 in 10.7 you have to run these commands from terminal networksetup -setv6off Ethernet networksetup -setv6off wi-fi For macbook air only ---- networksetup -setv6off USB' 'Ethernet

Kevin Fairdosi added a comment - 16/Oct/11 9:21 PM After following Scott's advice on how to disable IPv6 on 10.7, my iTunes now successfully connects to boxee and seems to play. The boxee screen goes black with the play\pause bar at the bottom, and says "Streaming" at the top, but nothing is playing.

Rich Wisely added a comment - 12/Jan/12 12:49 AM Same problem here, however, I also can no longer stream from iPhone to Boxee. I used to be able to send iTunes from phone or MBP, but now neither connects. iPhone 4 "sees" actually 2 "boxee" options, but neither works. iTunes desktop "sees" boxee, but will not connect. Deactivating IPv6 does not resolve. Running OSX Lion 10.7.2 on MBP. iPhone 4 is iOS 5.0.1 (9A405).

Andrea Bosetti added a comment - 23/Jan/12 11:46 AM - edited Ami, that's what I've done before: enabled DEBUG log, rebooted, tried to send audio from iTunes to Boxee, nothing happened, downloaded log. I'll try again if you want ;) The problem is that the box doesn't even start to receive the streaming because in iTunes I'm not able to select "boxee" as speaker.

Ami Ben-David [Boxee] added a comment - 23/Jan/12 11:52 AM the archive you attached does not contain any logs which means you selected the wrong one or you clicked the "get latest" and did not wait for a new archive to be created, this would be great if you can try again and attach DEBUG logs. thanks!

Justin McCoy added a comment - 04/Feb/12 10:47 PM Disabling of IPV6 on Lion 10.7.3 with the latest version of the firmware on the Boxee Box as of 02/03/12 fixed the problem. I did restart iTunes and Boxee before before attempting to connect.
